Dacetuzumab (SGN-40)

Description

Dacetuzumab (SGN-40) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the CD40 antigen, which is highly expressed on most B lineage hematologic malignancies including multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. CD40 is also found on many types of solid tumors, including bladder, renal and ovarian cancer. CD40 targeted therapy may also be applicable for immunologic diseases.

Development Status

In January 2007, we entered into an exclusive worldwide collaboration agreement with Genentech to develop and commercialize dacetuzumab. Under the agreement, Genentech funds research, development, manufacturing and commercialization costs.

Seattle Genetics and Genentech are currently conducting six phase Ib-IIb clinical trials of dacetuzumab focused on non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
